Education & Training

AREA delivers child education, vocational and business development training, and capacity building of Community Development Councils (Shura) to address livelihood vulnerabilities.

Training delivered by AREA partners and donors includes:

• Selection, training and linking of returnees from Iran, Pakistan and internally displaced people for self or wage employment.
• Tailoring training for 65 women in Kunar province, funded by Novib.
• Vocational training (carpet weaving) funded by IOM in Badghis province.
• Vocational training (metal work) funded by IOM in Herat province.
• Vocational training (embroidery and tailoring) funded by IRC in Paktia province.
• Vocational training (technical training centre) funded by Novib in Herat province.
• Charma dozi, food processing, on-the-job training, mobile repairing, beautician, carpentry and bag making — ongoing, supported by CARE International.
